Dressing Up

Oh Lilly Grace. She keeps us laughing and on own toes.  The stories I could share about her...

She found some clean laundry waiting on the steps to go upstairs and set to work putting every item on.  Which included: about 5 pairs of mommy's underwear and Daddy's T-shirt.

Can we build a ______?

We get asked this question multiple times a day.  The plea to build some kind of structure in the house. A barn? A house? A tent? A garage? Sometimes I think I might have run out of ideas of how to design it.

Here's how it usually goes down.

O: Mom, can we build a ______?
Me or Jimmy: Sure, how should we make it?
O: With the cushions.
Me or Jimmy: How about we use .....? (we usually try to steer him away from the couch cushion idea because we like to be able to sit on the furniture at some point before bed time.)
Then we build some type of structure together. And by together I mean, Jimmy or I do the building and Owen and Lilly squeal and skip around with excitement.
Once it's built, they fill the space with a random array of toys and play in it.

This particular one was a favorite of the kids.

Growing too fast

I feel like the 3rd time around I appreciate and notice Gibson's milestones in a whole different way.  I savor them more.  He is a dream baby, really.  He is just so happy to be here and soaks in every moment of life.  A good reminder for me.  It is amazing how much my children teach me.

Like I said: just happy to just be.

This one make me laugh.  Here's how I found Gibson after his first night in his crib.

More recently, he has been working on fine tuning some motor skills...reaching and grabbing for things to put them in his mouth.  He gets super focused and concentrated when he gets ready to make a reach.

Just love him to pieces.

Big Boy Cut

Before

During
 After

It's crazy how much a haircut can make a boy grow up!

Ele-Fun

Playing games. I feel like we are crossing into the realm of "organized" games. They haven't kept Owen's attention for very long until recently he wants to sit for longer periods of time to do a puzzle or play some sort of game--often something made up on the fly.  And if Owen wants to do it, you know Lilly wants to be right there too.  Keepin' up with big brother.

Here's Ele-Fun. The elephant spits little butterflies out of his long trunk and you have to try to catch them in your net before they hit the ground.

Round One:

 Round Two:
Do you think it might be easier to just stick the net over the top to catch them before the butterflies manage to get free?
