Sleeping Sweetie

Last night Owen slept the longest stretch he's ever gone! 4 1/2 straight hours of sleep is heavenly for his mommy! Being propped up in the boppy must have helped take care of the congestion and let his little body relax and sleep.

Soooo sweet!

A Special Day

The IWU girls had a little reunion at our house today(Coming from as far as Traverse City in MI and Portland, ME). What a treat to see and catch up with all these lovely ladies! Just imagine how bubbly and excited 7 girls in our little house could be! What a fun afternoon! They were all so generous and thoughtful to Alex and I...bringing a DELICIOUS spread of food for lunch and lots of adorable outfits, books, and other baby goodies for our little babes. God is good to give such good friendships!

Rub a dub dub

Owen isn't so sure about his baths yet. Although this time he didn't seem to mind sitting in the sink for a scrub.

My Little Peanut

I took a little walk in the evening air a couple nights ago...which was quite lovely...however, we later found out after leaving the windows open all night that our little guy has some allergies. The pollen count is super high and Owen's little body didn't like that one bit! He let us know through a FUSSY, long night complete with a flemy throat and diareha. We sure were glad that it cleared up quickly and he returned to his happy, content self quickly. :)

3 Weeks Old...already

It's hard to believe 3 weeks ago today Owen was born. The time has gone fast, yet it's already hard to imagine life without him. He is thickening up---his legs and arms are beginning to fill out and his tummy is getting fuller and rounder. Look at his little chubby cheeks!

Tummy Time!

We started having tummy time after Owen's morning feeding this week. He seems to like being on his tummy and is moving his head from center to side and back and forth. It also helps him relieve himself of some gas :)

What a cutie!!

The other day Owen found his thumb while relaxing in his swing.

Surprise trip to Michigan!

We surprised my parents today! We drove up to Michigan and were waiting in the house for mom and dad when they got home from church. The look on their faces were priceless! This was the first dad has seen Owen since the day he was delivered. My, how he has grown and changed since then!

BIG YAWN....sleepy time

Reading time with Grandma...

He loves to listen to stories...I think I even caught him tracking the turn of a page one night when his grandma was reading to him!

Time to Play!

Owen enjoys looking around at all the colors and shapes. He spent some time cooing, grunting, and batting his hands around on his rainforest mat one day.

Week #1

Where's Owen??

Cuddle time with mommy!

Our little burrito...he loves to be swaddled up!

Owen's first day...hanging out at the hospital

Changing diapers is a team effort and takes lots of
concentration in the beginning days.

Jimmy is a proud papa!

Proud Grandparents

I was blessed to have lots of support the day I delivered Owen. My parents received the call that my water broke at midnight. They got up and drove 3 hours south in the middle of the night in order to be at the hospital in time for Owen to arrive. Jimmy's parents came in the wee hours of the morning so they could be there to welcome the little guy when he arrived, too.
Grammie and Papa and Aunt Danielle also came to await his arrival.
