Cup Towers

Happy Thanksgiving!

Owen's first Thanksgiving! He loved the sweet potatoes, pineapple, and green beans....and Daddy snuck some marshmallows off the top of the sweet potatoes, too.

Mmmmm....good!

Scootin' to get that doggie

A little snipet of what Owen is up to these days...

Owen was helping me sort his clothes and put some bigger clothes in his drawer. He started several feet away from the changing table and scooted his way over to it. Those baskets had his eyes. He grabbed at them for a while until he got a good grip and pulled himself up into this position.
"Help me, Mom...I'm stuck!"

Yummmy...ice chips!

It didn't show up very good, but his poor upper lip was BRIGHT red from the ice!

simple toys

Owen's newest fascination...he loves the cap of his juice sippy.

New Sounds...What fun!

not for mommy....for Owen :)

Jimmy got some new socks so he was going through his sock drawer to get rid of some old ones. He had Owen giggling like crazy at every sock.

And after all was said and done, this is the mountain Owen was hiding in:

Fall Leaves

Oh the beautiful colors of fall!!

Wahoo!

The past two nights Owen has gone 12 hours between feedings! I had to get up a couple times to give him his paci, but hey, I'd say this is a LEAP in the right direction! (The best I was getting before was 5-6 hours between feedings.)

Owen knows just how to melt his mommy's heart---

This is the greeting I get from my little guy when I go to get him from his crib in the mornings.
~a giant smile, refreshed and excited eyes, with a little jig of a dance~

Pals

Hey, whatcha doin?

Cool trick! I can roll over too!
Ooops, can't QUITE keep my balance yet...

If only Barkley knew how much fun he will be able to have with Owen in a couple years....Right now Barkley knows to keep his space and be careful around Owen--even to the point that when Owen reaches out to touch him Barkley pulls away.

Excited

5 Months Old

Here is Owen in an outfit his daddy wore as a baby. Owen wants everything in his mouth so it was kinda hard to get a picture with him not grabbing the blanket. Daddy helped out in distracting Owen and we captured some cute expressions! He is just soo precious!

Saving the best for last....

...RIGHT after rolling over...

If I put Owen on his tummy, he will immediately roll onto his back and assume this postion--holding it as long as possible in order to see as much as possible...

He wants to sit up independently SO bad!! The balance factor is playing against him right now...but he's soooo close!

Hands and Feet

Owen has discovered his feet! He likes to try to suck on his toes. The changing table is his favorite spot to grab his feet and put them in his mouth....it must be something that comes with freedom from clothing!

More eating tales

Owen and Mommy have a great time talking and laughing together at eating time. The other day I was feeding him some squash/rice and he thought it was funny to buzz his lips to spray the food back out of his mouth. He was smiling and squealing and talking about his new discovery. Then just as I gave him another spoon full, a giant sneeze erupted from little Owen. I started laughing at the sight of orange puree spraying out of his mouth with such sudden force. Owen's response was priceless: He smiled with bright eyes, gave a little giggle, then tried to reinact his sneeze with a fake one!! It was the sweetest thing ever!!

First Tastes...

Last week we started Owen on solid foods! Jimmy gave him his first tastes of rice cereal. Owen was really funny about it...making silly faces, trying to grab the spoon and shove it in his mouth, making funny noises. It has been fun trying different foods. So far, Owen has been a great eater! He has had carrots, bananas, butternut squash, and sweet vegetable medley (carrots, potatoes, rutabaga, and parsnips). He gets so excited when I put him in his high chair. He makes all kinds of squeals of excitement!

SAY CHEESE!!!

This says it all!

Lobsta' Fishing

The highlight of our trip was going Lobsta' fishing. We were the only ones on the boat and got to help catch the lobster as we learned about the creatures. We set the bait, measured the lobsters to see if they were 'keepers', and banded their claws. When we got back to the dock, Captain Dave helped us take 4 of the lobsters we caught over to a restaurant for them to boil them up for us. Couldn't have tasted it more fresh from the sea!! What an experience to remember!

Dinner is served!
