Nothin' like a boogie to the weather channel

Jimmy turned the weather channel up real loud this evening. As soon as he did, Owen came out of his room to see what all the commotion was. When he got about half way to the tv, he broke out in a little dance. We were able to catch a few of of moves just before he reached the tv.

...and he's off!

Owen has really took off walking everywhere in the last week or so. Everyday he goes farther, gets quicker, and becomes more steady. He's been trying REAL hard to get from sitting to standing without using anything for assistance. Sometimes all the effort just makes him frustrated when it doesn't work. But persistence is paying off because every day gets better and better.

This video is a good sampling of what Owen is up to lately---bending down to pick up an object, carrying the object as he walks around, and getting frustrated sometimes for no apparent reason at all, then plopping to the floor to make his case more believeable.

He's such a sweatheart!

the head bob

Owen was playing with Scout--the stuffed animal. I noticed that everytime Scout would sing a song, Owen would bob his head to the music. The video isn't a very good representation of how long and how much he was doing it, but at least it gives you an idea. :)

Busy Boy

While Daddy went to a conference in FL, Owen and Mommy went to MI to visit Grandpa and Grandma. We're not sure who wore who out--did Owen wear Grandma and Grandpa out or did Grandma and Grandpa wear Owen out?? Either way you look at it, Owen was a nonstop busy boy. He did lots of...

...swinging...

...watching and talking to Barkley...

...walking...

...eating snacks...
(he thought it was pretty cool to sit at the big stool--don't worry he wasn't left unsupervized)

...bike riding...

...walking....

...sliding...

...and more walking...

Daddy's fun and crazy ideas

the bowl episode

I was feeding Owen lunch--food he normally loves--and he was eating just fine for a few minutes until he decided to be super upset. I couldn't figure out what was bothering him. I tried gettiing out some peas because he hadn't had those in a while and usually chows them down. He ate a few then got super upset again. I noticed that when I brought the bowl of peas closer to him he would calm down. So I held the bowl within his reach---he just wanted to eat his food out of the bowl. Maybe he felt more like a big boy if he ate out of a container like big people do. SO, he ate the rest of his lunch like a charm---from the bowl, of course.

Easter

Bucking Bronco

I found this vintage rocking horse at Treasure Mart. It needed a little TLC--I repainted it, replaced the missing dowl rods, and made a cute little cushion for the saddle. Now it's good as new!! And Owen loves it.
