9 Month Stats

Yesterday we went to the doctor for Owen's nine month check up. The doctor said he was a healthy growing boy!

Here's the stats:

Height= 29 inches (75th percentile)

Weight= 19 lbs 5 oz (4oth percentile)

Head circumference= 10th percentile---what a little head!! Mommy is definitely glad for that :)

Loving the new vantage point with independence

Owen is not only loving to stand up holding onto furniture, but happily holds his balance indepently for quite some time.

From the Doorway: Look what we saw...

This is the second time in 2 days that Owen has done this. Owen didn't take very good naps today, so we tried to lay him down for a cat nap while we ate dinner. As you can tell, he decided he didn't want to take one. Look what we saw when we went in to get him:

I got up here by myself,

Come get me outta here!

One small step...

Owen love-love-loves this lion toy he received for Christmas. He would love to be able to walk behind it and tries his best. Every once in a while he'll take a step without help. He gets aggravated when it rolls forward too fast and he ends up on his knees. He wants to be on his feet!

Here's a clip with a little step...but then he spots another toy that steals his attention.

The everyday joys of life...

Not super exciting to watch, but this is one of Owen' favorite things to do!

Snow Fun

I took Owen for a little toboggan ride out in the snow a couple days ago. He didn't really have much of an opinion about it that I could tell. His little cheeks got nice and rosy with cold so we didn't stay out long. Next time, we'll add a scarf to the adventure.

You wouldn't think it funny...

The silliest things get the biggest laugh out of Owen!

Plank Position

Owen wants to crawl sooo bad! He's starting to crawl inefficiently backwards. When he wants to to go forward he gets so frustrated. He gets up on his feet and hands, sticks his butt in the air and looks longingly where he wants to go.

You'll get it all together soon, bud!

How did they act together?

Music Lessons

8 mo.--Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow

Owen's first experience with snow!

Our little guy is already 8 months old...he is bundles of fun! Here's some of the things he is doing these days: babbling like he's carrying on a conversation with you, uses b, d, and g sounds, trying to become mobile (getting up on all fours then falling to his tummy), loving table food and feeding himself finger food, loving to stand up using the furniture, sleeping well at night, playing peekaboo with me (using his silky) when I go to get him from his crib after naps

Owen's first Christmas

It was fun to see how Owen reacted to opening gifts. He didn't know what to do, but with some practice he started to get the hang of it. Although he usually got distracted by the wrapping paper--wanting to eat it, instead of finishing unwrapping.

Owen is definitely not shorthanded in the toy department. He was given lots of new and fun entertainment, and even some toys to grow into, too. Thank you, Grandmas and Grandpas, Uncles, and Aunt!

Owen's Dedication

It is Jimmy and I's desire to raise Owen up in a way that is honoring to the Lord. On December 6th, we made this commitment in front of our church family. We were blessed to have all of our family there to share in this special day. How awesome to have such a heritage of faith....may it only grow stronger!

Okay, I've been TERRIBLE about updating this. A whole month + has gone by since I've updated about what our little Owen is up to. Much discovery has taken place over the past 4 weeks...Here's a little bit of a snap shot from everyday life happenings here at the Hankins household.

...and of course...baths :)
