Nothing beats a little breakfast serenade

She's such a good big sister to Gibson. She just adores him.  She was singing one of her own songs to him this morning.  She is always making up melodies for us to enjoy.  Daddy thinks singing might be in her future....

Our Thanksgiving Tree

Here are some of the things Owen and Lilly came up with that they are thankful for:
L: for Mommy, Daddy, Bubby, Baby Gibby
O: for somebody to walk (for legs to walk--we just had a conversation about that the other day), for Mommy and Daddy, for Jesus (when asked why: because He is good), for God (when asked why: because He helps us obey), for toys, for markers, for scissors

Sippy time!

Trying a sippy for the first time.

Box Fun

I should have thought to have my camera out more this particular evening.  They had so much fun playing with the box from our new water heater.  It was a house, a tunnel, a slide off the couch, a tunnel slide off the couch, and this was the finale of the evening:

Turkey Turkey

Owen found a turkey craft in his Clubhouse Jr. magazine when it came in the mail and said, "Mommy, we have to make this! Can we make this?"

So in the next couple of days, I gathered the supplies and we crafted one evening.

Lilly was not about to be left behind in the painting.  She wanted to do her own project with the sponge shapes.

The final product:

The train love has been passed on

Gibson watched the train go around and around for quite some time during the peace and quiet of nap time one afternoon. He would reach out to catch the train everytime it came around.

A sibling affair

Anytime Gibson tries something for the first time...well, pretty much most of the time I am giving my attention to Gibson, the older two are right there with me.  He gets loved on alot!

Here's Gibson trying puffs for the first time a couple weeks ago.  Bubby and Sissy both took their turns giving their brother a taste.

Running off some energy

While I got caught up on blogging, Gibson took a nap and Owen and Lilly had a blast playing on their bikes in the barn. Owen pulled Lilly on various bikes and they laughed and giggled a ton together! It is so great to watch them play and enjoy one another's company.

Trick or Treating

First stop: To see our cousins.

Second Stop: Trunk or Treat on the boulevard.

 Third Stop: Home.
Lilly sneakily ate more candy than we know.

Gibson was tuckered out and ready for bed, but was a good sport all evening.

Owen got right to work counting his candy..which made me laugh because that is exactly what I remember doing as a kid--organizing, counting, and tallying my stash!

Leaf People

We made these little guys last week.  Owen and Lilly had fun making their little people--collecting leaves, and gluing clothes and eyes on them.

When we finished Owen called these two "David and Goliath."  Then he wanted to find something to make the hills that God's people stood on and Goliath stood on.

So, here's what we came up with.  Then he acted it out with his leaf people.

Sickie

Lilly Lou fought a terrible wheezy cough last week.  We ended up taking her to the doctor just to make sure it wasn't RSV like she had last year.  We got the all clear, but were told to go ahead to do breathing treatments to help break up the gunk.  She was quite the bear last week, but still managed to make us smile at her goofiness.

Lilly was such a big girl and so very cooperative about the breathing treatments.  She would sit in the booster chair and either hold the mouth piece or the face mask without any trouble at all. :)

Cereal

Gibson has been starting to take some cereal in the evening before bed.  It's hit or miss how much he cares for it.  Sometimes he will eat the whole serving.  Other times just a couple bites is suffice.
Little mommy Lilly always wants to help me feed her baby Gibby. He doesn't mind her helping now, but I'm not sure he will aways be so appreciative of her efforts in the years to come.  ;) She loves him lots. For that, I am thankful.

Favorite ways to view the world

Gibson loves to sit with support.  The boppy gives him just what he needs to keep his balance.

He even watched the Presidential Debates with us last week.  He was pretty into it.

He also loves to be on his belly.  He will turn himself in a complete circle checking out all that is around him. He can roll over, but doesn't care to very often.  He is just content to be on his little tummy.

5 months old

Gibson is sitting by himself for a few seconds at a time and can sit for quite a while with the assistance of the boppy pillow for balance.  He loves the exersaucer and babbles up a storm whenever he's awake. We all love him to pieces!
