Pedal Tractor Race

Owen participated in the pedal tractor race at our county fair.  He did FANTASTIC!!

He completed the course in 20 seconds!! Many of the other kids completed it in about 60 seconds.  All that bike riding paid off.  As a prize, he won a trophy and a free lemon shake up!

Getting his picture taken with the Queen and court.

4th of July Celebrations

We took the kids to fireworks on the 3rd--Gibson LOVED them, Lilly HATED them, and Owen waivered between the two.  The next day we went to Twelve Mile's Lawnmower races in the afternoon and had a cookout in the evening--complete with sparklers and other little firework fun.

Owen had to warm up to the idea of the sparklers.  After watching ALOT of them, he decided to give it a try but then threw it down and watched it finish.

By the end of the evening he was joining in the fun, but very very concentrated while waving his sparkler.

Blueberry Picking

I took Owen and Lilly blueberry picking today! It went over really well!  (Gibby stayed back at Grammie and Papa's to take a nap.) Owen picked 4 lbs all by himself and was really into picking for TWO whole HOURS!! He took one break in the middle but that was it...the rest he was busily picking away.  Lilly ate every berry she picked and was content to watch when she wasn't eating.  Altogether, we picked 21 1/2 lbs of berries!!

A picnic lunch--tent style

I got out our tent to make sure it is all in one piece and ready to go because we are crazy and taking our 3 little children camping next weekend.

The kids were so excited to play in the tent that afternoon and even eat lunch in it!

A Princess Party

Lilly and Mommy went to a "Princess Party" at our local library recently.  She was SO excited to go to a party just for "her"--she kept calling it "my party".  It really was a Pinkalicious party put on by all the high school girls in the 4H Queen Pagent.

All ready to go in her princess dress.

She got to make a crown and a sash and watch a little puppet show.

Here's my little princess with the Miss Cass County. Even though she was so stone faced the whole time at the party, taking everything in around her, she couldn't stop talking about the party after we left. :)
