Ear Tubes Surgery- Take 2
Owen was a trooper. He had a second set of ear tubes put in and his adnoids taken out last week. We had to be at the hospital at 6:00 am for surgery at 7:00 am. Based on his memory of the Riley Children's Hospital a few months ago, he was kind of excited to go to the hospital. He thought he was going to get to play with toys and get all kinds of special attention. But upon ariving at the "regular" hospital, he slowly came to the realization that this hospital was not the same--no toys, no singing balloon.
All in all, he did a good job. He was nervous about leaving mommy and daddy and had a tough time waking up from the anesthesia. But as soon as Mommy and Daddy got back to him we cuddled and rested while he worked through feeling disoriented and weird from the medicine. All three of us got a little nap and when we woke up, the nurse discharged us and we were home before noon.

Signature item in the wardrode of a country boy
COWBOY BOOTS!
I know these are bad quality, but I still think they are cute. Papa picked up these cowboy boots at an auction and dropped them off on his way home. Owen was so excited about his new boots that once he had them on he wanted to get out his cowboy hat and go ride his horse. He now wears his boots pretty much everywhere!

Beading Fun
Just a note: I know, I know...It's been a while since I last posted...and I have quite a few pictures to blog about, so hopefully I can get back in the swing of it...be watching. My energy has been lower than usual this pregnancy and we've had sicknesses come through that have also zapped energies.
This morning the kids requested we play with beads while Daddy went for his valentine's day massage. I am amazed at how long the little activity kept their attention.
He's not super consistent on one to one correspondence yet and sometimes gets the numbers out of order still, but just last week all he would count to was 3, so this is a HUGE improvement! (Thank you, Numberland DVD from the libary!)
